The Boeing Company, Santa Susana Field Laboratory (SSFL), Canoga Park, CA
The Santa Susanna Field Laboratory (SSFL) is an industrial facility operated by The Boeing Company. The site is located in the Simi Hills at the north end of the San Fernando Valley. JMA designed, managed, and implemented a Phase I cultural resources survey of the Boeing administered areas at the SSFL. The survey results included the identification of 61 new archaeological sites within the Boeing administered areas of the SSFL. The project involved consultation with Native American Stakeholders, intensive field survey, site recordation, construction and management of GIS data, and the production of a final report. JMA staff coordinated directly with representatives from the Boeing Company. JMA currently manages and coordinates a large crew of archaeological monitors for soil sampling and remediation activities in the Boeing administered areas at SSFL.
